Nominated by Warren G. Harding on February 28, 1923, to a new seat authorized by 42 Stat. 837. Confirmed by the Senate on March 3, 1923, and received commission on March 3, 1923. Service terminated on April 29, 1929, due to appointment to another judicial position.

Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit
Nominated by Herbert Hoover on April 18, 1929, to a new seat authorized by 45 Stat. 1346. Confirmed by the Senate on April 29, 1929, and received commission on April 29, 1929. Served as chief judge, 1948-1956. Assumed senior status on January 1, 1956. Service terminated on November 14, 1974, due to death.
