Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Virginia
Nominated by Herbert Hoover on December 15, 1931, to a seat vacated by Henry C. McDowell. Confirmed by the Senate on January 11, 1932, and received commission on January 14, 1932. Served as chief judge, 1948-1958. Assumed senior status on August 1, 1958. Service terminated on February 13, 1964, due to death.
