Associate Justice, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia [Supreme Court of the District of Columbia]
Nominated by Abraham Lincoln on March 10, 1863, to a new seat authorized by 12 Stat. 762. Confirmed by the Senate on March 11, 1863, and received commission on March 11, 1863. Service terminated on January 13, 1879, due to retirement.
