Nominated by John F. Kennedy on March 5, 1962, to a seat vacated by George Moore. Confirmed by the Senate on March 16, 1962, and received commission on March 17, 1962. Served as chief judge, 1971-1979. Assumed senior status on August 31, 1979. Service terminated on December 8, 1988, due to death.
