Nominated by John F. Kennedy on June 24, 1963, to a seat vacated by Joseph William Woodrough. Confirmed by the Senate on July 15, 1963, and received commission on July 16, 1963. Served as chief judge, 1973-1974. Assumed senior status due to certified disability on August 31, 1974. Service terminated on January 31, 1981, due to death.
