Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Tennessee
Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on September 22, 1966, to a seat vacated by Marion Speed Boyd. Confirmed by the Senate on October 20, 1966, and received commission on November 3, 1966. Served as chief judge, 1979-1986. Assumed senior status on December 31, 1986. Service terminated on June 25, 2004, due to death.
