Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit
Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on May 13, 1955, to a seat vacated by John Marshall Harlan. Confirmed by the Senate on July 11, 1955, and received commission on July 12, 1955. Served as chief judge, 1959-1971. Assumed senior status on July 20, 1971. Service terminated on June 3, 1999, due to death.
