Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on February 15, 1954, to a seat vacated by George Evan Howell. Confirmed by the Senate on March 16, 1954, and received commission on March 17, 1954. Assumed senior status on January 17, 1972. Service terminated on September 30, 1982, due to reassignment.

Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
Reassigned on October 1, 1982, to a new seat authorized by 96 Stat. 25. Service terminated on August 9, 1989, due to death.
