Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York
Received a recess appointment from Warren G. Harding on April 28, 1923, to a seat vacated by Thomas Ives Chatfield; nominated to the same position by Calvin Coolidge on December 15, 1923. Confirmed by the Senate on January 8, 1924, and received commission on January 8, 1924. Served as chief judge, 1948-1958. Assumed senior status on January 6, 1958. Service terminated on January 12, 1961, due to death.
