Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania
Nominated by Harry S Truman on November 2, 1945, to a seat vacated by Frederic P. Schoonmaker. Confirmed by the Senate on November 20, 1945, and received commission on November 29, 1945. Served as chief judge, 1951-1969. Assumed senior status on August 4, 1969. Service terminated on September 23, 1976, due to death.
