Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan
Nominated by Jimmy Carter on July 12, 1979, to a new seat authorized by 92 Stat. 1629. Confirmed by the Senate on September 25, 1979, and received commission on September 26, 1979. Served as chief judge, 1991-1995. Assumed senior status on July 13, 1996. Service terminated on January 31, 1999, due to retirement.
