Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
Nominated by Jimmy Carter on April 2, 1980, to a new seat authorized by 92 Stat. 1629. Confirmed by the Senate on May 21, 1980, and received commission on May 23, 1980. Served as chief judge, 1989-1996. Service terminated on September 18, 1999, due to death.
