Nominated by Theodore Roosevelt on February 27, 1907, to a seat vacated by Gustavus A. Finkelnburg. Confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 1907, and received commission on March 1, 1907. Assumed senior status on November 3, 1919. Service terminated on April 29, 1924, due to death.
