Federal Judicial Service:
Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
Nominated by Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 10, 1935, to a seat vacated by William Ball Gilbert. Confirmed by the Senate on January 29, 1935, and received commission on February 1, 1935. Served as chief judge, 1948-1957. Assumed senior status on July 3, 1957. Service terminated on March 9, 1959, due to death.
