Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on June 22, 1954, to a new seat authorized by 68 Stat. 8. Confirmed by the Senate on July 20, 1954, and received commission on July 20, 1954. Assumed senior status on January 31, 1965. Service terminated on August 14, 1974, due to death.
