Nominated by Jimmy Carter on August 14, 1978, to a seat vacated by Terry L. Shell. Confirmed by the Senate on September 20, 1978, and received commission on September 22, 1978. Service terminated on March 7, 1980, due to appointment to another judicial position.

Judge, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas
Nominated by Jimmy Carter on August 14, 1978, to a seat vacated by Terry L. Shell. Confirmed by the Senate on September 20, 1978, and received commission on September 22, 1978. Service terminated on March 7, 1980, due to appointment to another judicial position.
