In September 2004, the San Francisco and Honolulu offices of the EEOC brought this suit against Canyon Television and Appliance Rental, Inc. d/b/a Canyon Rent to Own in the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. The complaint is unavailable, and the basis for the suit is unknown. In March 2005, two private plaintiffs intervened in the suit. The case was settled in October 2005 by the entry of a consent decree, the details of which are unavailable.
