In November 1997 the Philadelphia district office of the EEOC brought this suit against TJX Companies, Inc. d/b/a TJ Maxx Company in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The complaint is unavailable, and the exact allegations brought by the EEOC are unknown. Three private parties intervened as plaintiffs in the case in February 1998. The case was settled by a settlement agreement in November 1998, the details of which are unknown, and the action was dismissed.
