In late January 1999, the Los Angeles District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Bally Total Fitness Corporation in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. We do not have a copy of the complaint; therefore, the exact allegations involved are unknown. After the defendant filed an answer to the complaint in April, it made an offer of judgment which was accepted by the EEOC in June 1999. The Court entered a judgment in favor of the EEOC in the amount of $10,000 later that month.
