In June 1999, the EEOC brought this suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against Dempsey's Diner Restaurant and related businesses. The only document that is publicly available for this case is the docket; thus, the exact allegations of the complaint are unknown. In September 1999, an individual complainant intervened in the suit. Subsequently, a mediation conference was ordered in December 1999 and continued in January 2000. The parties reached a settlement agreement in late March 2000.
