In September 1998, the Los Angeles office of the EEOC brought this suit against Pacific Homes d/b/a Fredricka Manor in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The complaint alleged that the defendant subjected the claimant to sexual harassment (male) and discharged him in retaliation to his complaint of sexual harassment. The parties settled during an ENE conference, and the court dismissed the case in March 1999.
The settlement agreement required the defendant to provide sexual harassment and retaliation training for its managers and supervisors, distribute its anti-discrimination policy, pay the claimant $14,000, and notify the EEOC when it distributes its policy.
