In September 1998, the San Antonio District Office of the EEOC brought this lawsuit against Catfish Parlour, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas alleging discrimination on the basis of sex in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. We do not have a copy of the complaint; therefore, the exact allegations involved are unknown. Following some discovery, the parties settled the lawsuit in May 1999 through a consent decree.
The one-year decree, containing a non-retaliation and non-discrimination clause, required the defendant to: post notice of employee's rights, provide EEO training to defendant's employees and pay $5000 to complaining party.
