The EEOC's New York District Office filed this suit against Porpiglia Farms, Inc. on September 20, 2006 in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of New York's Main Office. The claim alleged that Porpiglia Farms violated Title VII by discriminating against at least three of its employees based on their race (African American) and national origin (Jamaican) by creating a hostile work environment and implementing a discriminatory rent scheme for the affected employees. The parties entered into a consent decree on December 20, 2006, stipulating that Porpiglia Farms would provide Title VII compliance training for its managerial and supervisory employees, post a notice of compliance with Title VII, maintain a non-discrimination policy and pay $100,000 in damages split between ten adversely affected employees. The decree was to last for four years. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2010.
