In August 2004, the Dallas District Office of the EEOC brought this lawsuit against Service Electronics, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas alleging discrimination on the basis of physical handicap in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Specifically, the complaint alleged that the defendant failed to employ claimant at a Material Handler/Data Entry position due to her hearing impairment. After some discovery, the case was tried by a jury in February 2006 with the jury returning a verdict in favor of the defendant.
