Case Summary

On June 28, 2002, the EEOC brought this suit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma against American Superior Feeds, Inc. d/b/a Bluebonnet Feeds under the Equal Pay Act. The complaint is unavailable, but court documents indicate that the EEOC alleged that the defendant failed to pay a female manager wages equal to males in violation of the Equal Pay Act.

The case was referred to mediation in November 2002 but did not settle. The defendant filed a motion for summary judgment in March 2003, which was denied in May 2003. The case eventually went to trial in September 2003. After a three-day trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendant.
