Case Summary

In March 1997, the Charlotte District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against H&H Holding Company, d/b/a The Azelea Inn, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The only document publicly available regarding this case is the docket. Therefore, we do not know the exact nature of the allegations involved. Nine charging parties intervened in the suit in April 1997, and another two intervened in August 1997. After some scheduling orders, the parties appeared to reach a settlement in March 1998 when they filed a proposed consent decree with the Court. However, they seemed to have difficulty agreeing to the exact terms and did not actually settle until September 1998. We don't have the full consent decree but we do know that a monetary amount was awarded.
