Case Summary

In September 2000, the Memphis District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Dixie Stampede Dinner Attractions, Inc., a restaurant and entertainment company, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. We do not have a copy of the complaint. According to an EEOC press release, the defendant allegedly subjected female trick riders to a hostile work environment and paid them less than the male trick riders. Five of the charging parties, intervened in the suit before it was settled in June 2002. According to the EEOC press release, the decree required the defendant to pay $135,000 to the charging parties.
