The EEOC's New Orleans district office sued Security Finance Corporation, d/b/a Security Finance Corporation of Louisiana on February 22, 1999 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. The EEOC's complaint alleged that the defendant violated Title VII when it discriminated based on race (African American) by failing to consider qualified African American individuals for an assistant manager position. The parties entered into a settlement agreement on July 21, 2000, the contents of which are unknown.
