The Philadelphia District Office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, against Daimlerchrysler Corporation, a car dealership. The complaint was filed in March 2001, but we do not have access to this document. The charging party intervened in May 2001. The EEOC and Defendants agreed to a consent decree in September 2003, but the intervenor plaintiff and Defendants went on to trial in June 2004, in which there was a jury verdict for the plaintiff. The defendant filed a motion to strike the punitive damages, which was granted in part and denied in part, after which the defendant appealed to the U.S. Circuit Court for the Seventh Circuit. The docket indicates that the parties came to an agreement after this. The jury verdict awarded $300,000 to the complainant along with $157,110.04 in fees and costs. The only document we have for this case is the docket.
