The Philadelphia District Office of the EEOC filed this case in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The defendant was HRC Manor Care Health Services at Yardley. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against three black complainants on the basis of race by subjecting them to unwarranted discipline and terminating them in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The case was filed in September 2002 and was resolved by consent decree in December 2002. The consent decree required the defendant to pay $30,000 in damages to three complainants, refrain from discrimination and retaliation, provide Title VII training, expunge the complainants' employee records, and provide neutral references for the complainants.
