In December 1997, the New Orleans Office of the EEOC filed this lawsuit against Columbia Lakeland Medical Center in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. We do not have a copy of the complaint; therefore, the exact allegations are unknown. After extensive discovery, the case was tried by a jury in November 1998 with the jury returning a verdict in favor of the defendant. The court entered judgment for the defendant in November 1998 and the case was closed.
