In September 2002, the Los Angeles office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Cheap Tickets, Inc. et al. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The complaint alleged that the defendant subjected a class of female employees to a sexually hostile work environment, and disciplined some female employees (even discharged) in retaliation for complaints of harassment. Both charging parties intervened in the EEOC's suit in late October and early November of 2002. The parties reached a settlement agreement and dismissed the case in April 2003.

The settlement agreement required the defendant to pay the claimants $1,100,000 ($400,000 to the intervening plaintiffs, $400,000 to other named claimants, and $300,000 to unnamed claimants). The unnamed claimants include any female employee who could produce credible evidence that the defendant sexually harassed her or retaliated against her for her claim of sexual harassment. Each unnamed claimant had the opportunity to opt out of the settlement, but had to release all claims to receive a portion of the settlement. The unclaimed portion of the settlement went to charity.
