The Philadelphia Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in April 2001. The complainant filed a separate suit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in March 2001 (2:01-cv-01258-SD). The complaints are unavailable so the allegations are unknown. The EEOC's motion to consolidate and the private plaintiff's motion to intervene were granted in July 2001. Prior to consolidation, the court in the private plaintiff's case denied the defendant's motion to dismiss, or in the alternative, motion for summary judgment. After consolidation, the EEOC case was designated the lead case. After a few discovery motions and denial of the defendant's motion for summary judgment, the case was settled through a consent decree in November 2002. The consent decree is unavailable so its terms are unknown.
