The EEOC's Baltimore district office sued AMF Bowling Centers, Inc. on February 21, 2001 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The EEOC alleged that the defendant violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act by terminating one of its employees because of his age. The parties entered into a consent decree on March 20, 2001, which stipulated that the defendant would pay the complainant $12,500 in damages, post a notice of compliance with the ADA, reinstate the complainant to his position of manager, and expunge the complainant's employment record.
