The Milwaukee office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, against Quality Pork Processors, Inc. The complaint, filed in January 2001, alleged race discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, specifically that Defendant subjected the charging party to a racially hostile work environment and then retaliated against her when she complained about the harassment. In November 2001, Defendant moved for summary judgment and the motion was granted in part in February 2002 (EEOC's claim for retaliation was dismissed at this time).

In February 2002 the parties engaged in a settlement conference and the case settled. In April 2002 a consent decree was entered. The decree, valid for five years, required Defendant to pay the charging party $15,000, expunge her employment records and provide her with a neutral employment reference. Defendant was enjoined from discrimination or retaliating in violation of Title VII and required to provide employment discrimination training to its employees, post a notice of non-discrimination at its work place, and adopt and disseminate an anti-discrimination policy.

The decree was entered in 2002 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
