The EEOC's Miami district office sued Medical Center Radiology Group of Drs. Curry, Harding, George & Eliscu, P.A. on September 16, 1999 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The EEOC's complaint alleged that the defendant violated Title VII when it discriminated based on sex (male) by creating adverse employment conditions for the complainant and ultimately terminating his employment in retaliation for his complaint against the defendant's creation of a hostile work environment for female employees. The parties entered into a consent decree on August 14, 2000, which stipulated that the defendant would pay the complainant $164,400 in damages, costs and fees; post a copy of the defendant's EEO policy; provide Title VII training to its managers; distribute its EEO policy to new hires; provide for a complaint-reception official; maintain records of sexual harassment complaints; and report complaints of sex discrimination and compliance with the consent decree to the EEOC semiannually.
