The Charlotte District Office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, against Weck Closure Systems, Inc. The complaint was filed in June 1999 and the complainant intervened in October 1999. The case was referred to mediation in February 2000 and the mediation was successfully completed in March 2000. In May 2000 the parties entered a consent decree. The docket states that the decree required Defendant to pay the charging party $11,500 in damages and to pay the charging party's attorney $11,500 in attorneys fees. The injunctive relief granted is unknown. This case is related to 1:99-CV-00526 (M.D.N.C. 2000).
