The Miami Office of the EEOC filed this action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The Defendant was Cognisa Security, Inc. The controversy involved the alleged discharge of the complainant on the basis of sex in that she was pregnant in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The lawsuit was filed in September of 2005 and was eventually resolved by consent decree in October of 2006. The complainant did not intervene in the case. The consent decree is unavailable so it is unknown what type of relief was granted.
