The New York Office of the EEOC filed this action in the District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. The Defendant was ITT Federal Services, a manufacturer of electronic components for government contracts. The controversy involved an alleged violation of the ADEA for failure to hire the complainant. The lawsuit was filed in September of 1999 and was eventually resolved by consent decree in January of 2001. The complainant, who did not intervene in the case, was awarded $50,000. In addition, supervisory personnel were required to attend a training seminar and the company had to post a Notice.
