On 23 October 1997, the EEOC district office in New York, New York brought this suit against the Heisei Mineral Corporation and the 399 Metal Corporation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The complaint is not available. On October 29 1997, a consent decree was entered. There were no events between the complaint and the consent decree. Although the consent decree is not available, the docket states that there was a single complainant who received $170,000 in relief. The terms of the decree ran for two years. No fees or costs were awarded.
