EEOC's Baltimore, MD office filed this sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against the defendants, Valleywood Industries, Inc. (dba Pallet Masters) and Prolease HR, Inc. (dba Intraforce) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (Baltimore) on 08/01/2003.

EEOC alleged on behalf of a former female employee at defendants' Baltimore facility that the defendants condoned her supervisor's sexual harassment conduct inflicted on her, including inappropriate physical and verbal conduct. The EEOC also claimed that the hostile work environment resulted in the constructive discharge of the employee.

A one-year consent decree was entered on 04/13/2004. Under the decree, the defendants would pay the former employee $30,000 in back pay. Additionally, the defendants were prohibited from discriminating and retaliating on the basis of sex. The defendants must provide training to all employees and institute a confidential complaint process where employees can complain to an outside official. The complaint process must be posted and distributed to all employees. The defendants were also required to post notice of the lawsuit for 180 days at all its facilities.
