Case Summary

In November 1999, the Dallas District Office of the EEOC filed this suit against Saldeb, Inc. (d/b/a Pizza Inn, Inc.) in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. We do not have a copy of the complaint. However, according to the consent decree, the complaint alleged that the defendant violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by subjecting the charging party, a female employee, to a sexually hostile work environment. The charging party intervened in the suit in January 2000. After some scheduling orders, the parties settled in January 2001 through a consent decree.

The one-year decree required the defendant to post its sexual harassment policy, provide Title VII training for all its employees, expunge the charging party's personnel file from all references to charges of discrimination, provide a neutral employment reference for the charging party, and pay $60,000.
