In May 2001, the EEOC district office in Phoenix, Arizona brought this suit against the Swift Transportation Company, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. An individual female complainant intervened and later stipulated to have the case dismissed prior to the EEOC concluding its case. After the denial of two motions for partial summary judgment by the intervenor and the EEOC, a consent decree was entered in January 2004. The consent decree is currently unavailable.
