The EEOC's Baltimore district office sued Home Paramount Pest Control Companies, Inc., a Baltimore extermination company, on September 26, 2006 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The EEOC alleged that Paramount violated Title VII when it discriminated against one of its employees based on sex (female) when it created a hostile work environment of sexual harassment. The parties entered into a consent decree on March 19, 2007, which stipulated that the defendants pay $30,000 in damages to the aggrieved employee, revise and distribute its EEO policies, hold a training session concerning compliance with Title VII, post a notice of compliance with Title VII, expunge the aggrieved employee's work record, and provide a neutral reference in the future.
The terms of the agreement were to run for 2 years. The docket sheet does not show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2009.
