The EEOC's Dallas district office sued First Preston Real Estate Services, a Texas real estate company, on August 30, 2005 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The EEOC's complaint alleged that First Preston violated Title VII when it discriminated based on sex (female) by discharging an employee because of her pregnancy. The parties entered into a consent decree on May 10, 2006, which stipulated that First Preston would pay the aggrieved employee $45,000 in damages, conduct a training session for its employees concerning Title VII compliance, post notice of compliance with Title VII, review its EEO policies and complaint procedures, expunge the aggrieved employee's employment record and provide her with a neural reference.
