Case Summary

The Chicago District Office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, against Michelin North America, Inc. The complaint was filed in August 1998, but we do not have access to that document. In March 1999, after discovery had taken place, Defendant moved for summary judgment. The motion was denied in April 1999 and, in June 1999 the case proceeded to trial. After four days, the trial resulted in a hung jury.

In August 1999, a settlement conference was held but the parties were unable to reach an agreement and a new trial date was set. In November 1999 the parties settled and the case was dismissed. The only document we have for this case is the docket, which suggests that the case was under Title VII.
