The Memphis (along with the Nashville and Little Rock) office of the EEOC brought this suit against Rock-Tenn Company in July 1998, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Both charging parties brought suit against the defendant in August 1998 and March 1999 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee but intervened and consolidated their suits (1:98-cv-00264 and 1:99-cv-00092) with the EEOC's suit in September 1998 and March 1999. The defendants filed motions for summary judgment that were granted in part in September 1999. The parties came to a settlement during mediation in April 2000, and the court entered a consent decree in June 2000. Information on the nature of the suit and the consent decree is unavailable; only the docket is available.
