Case Summary

In July 2002, the EEOC's Detroit District Office filed this suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan against Servicing Solutions, L.L.C. The complaint alleged discrimination by the defendant on the basis of sex in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, the defendant's Vice President subjected the charging party, a female employee, to a sexually hostile work environment and quid pro quo sexual harassment by making sexually explicit and vulgar comments to the employee and demoting her when she refused his request for sex. The defendant answered the complaint in August 2002; thereafter, a discovery plan was filed and a settlement conference set. In February 2003, the parties stipulated to a dismissal, probably due to a settlement.
