The EEOC's Birmingham district office filed suit against Webster Industries, Inc. on August 17, 1998 in the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Mississippi. The only document available for this case is the docket, and in it, the EEOC's cause of action is not specified. Webster settled with the EEOC out of court and the court entered a consent judgment between the two parties on February 8, 1999. The docket merely states that the defendant "will comply both with the letter and spirit of the Commission's regulations as set out." No other details of the settlement are available.
