In 1972, plaintiffs, represented by the Legal Aid Society of Omaha-Council Bluffs filed a class action suit on behalf of all present and future pretrial detainees of the Douglas County Jail in Omaha, Nebraska. The Court for the District of Nebraska (Judge Robert Denney) held that due to substantial remodeling of the courthouse jail, many of plaintiffs' issues were moot.

The Court (Judge Robert Denney) went on to address issues regarding living conditions at the interim jail, recreation and exercise, visitation, telephone usage, and dissemination of jail rules. Moore v. Janing, 427 F. Supp. 567 (D. Neb. 1976). The docket for this case is not available on PACER, and therefore our information ends with the last reported decision in 1976.
